Beefmaster Cattle

Your resource for quality replacement females.
We first introduced the Beefmaster breed to the Fite Ranch in 2002. Beefmasters are a composite breed developed by Tom Lasater in the 1930s founded on the six essentials including Fertility, Weight, Conformation, Milk Production, Hardiness, and Disposition. Our sires provide top genetics from Isa Beefmasters and San Pedro Ranch. Adhering to the six essentials has produced a herd of cows that excel in producing high quality calves in our harsh desert climate. We offer replacement heifers and feeder steers. We will be offering our first set of E6 Certified replacement heifers Fall 2020. Our goal is to provide top producing Beefmaster cattle to commercial ranches, especially those faced with harsh conditions.

It’s all in the genes...

Average precipitation in our harsh desert environment is 4 to 6 inches per year. However, the summer of 2019 proved to be one of the driest seasons on record. Despite this challenge, the top genetics that have been incorporated at the Fite Ranch have produced a Beefmaster herd that can produce for any operation. Our dams met the adversity by weaning heavy weight calves while maintaining condition.

Sustainable production is key...

Whatever your environment, cattle that are able to produce define your bottom line. Fite Ranch Beefmaster females have been bred to surpass expectations under harsh conditions. First calf heifers for 2019 boasted a 94% calf crop despite the dry conditions with little help. Supplemental feed costs are kept at a minimum averaging $45/head/year. Strict culling and genetics selection has evolved our Beefmaster replacement females to produce for any ranch looking to incorporate the value added benefits of hybrid vigor.

Add the value of hybrid vigor...

As a composite breed, the Beefmaster female provides increased production through heterosis. The Fite Ranch is pleased to offer high quality Beefmaster commercial females to any operation. Our customers most often use purebred English and Continental sires including Angus and Charolais, and they are most pleased with the performance of the Beefmaster female in raising their crossbred progeny. The Fite Ranch focuses on the six essentials of Fertility, Weight, Conformation, Milk Production, Hardiness, and Disposition, and we welcome you to add the performance of the Beefmaster to your operation!
