Biodiversity and conservation...

Biodiversity and conservation have helped create thriving ecotourism in the area. With a prime location next to the Bosque del Apache, the Fite Ranch hosts worldwide visitors who enjoy the annual migrations of numerous waterfowl and avian species. In addition, natural predators including mountain lions, lynx, coyotes, and the occasional Mexican wolf can be found in the area. Mule deer, javelina, and antelope can also be discovered. Due to the unique location of the ranch, many public sports hunters are attracted to the area for the non-native species gemsbok (South African oryx). The Fite Ranch believes in maintaining a healthy, biodiverse environment, therefore private land sports hunting tags are released on a limited basis in order to maintain our rich biodiversity.
